Network Concepts wants this site to be usable by everyone, including people using screen
readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification or reduced-motion settings.
What we are aiming for
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the standard for this site.
What has been done
- Every image carries descriptive alternative text, and decorative graphics are hidden from
assistive technology rather than announced.
- The site is navigable by keyboard, and focus is visibly indicated wherever it lands.
- Headings follow a logical order so a screen reader can move through the page by structure.
- Interactive controls report their state, so a screen reader announces which system or room
is currently selected.
- Animation respects the operating system reduce motion setting. With it
enabled, movement stops and content is shown directly.
- Content is not hidden behind script. If JavaScript fails, the page still renders in full.
- Body text meets contrast requirements against the dark background, and layouts reflow down
to a 360 pixel viewport without horizontal scrolling.
Known limitations
- Two technical diagrams, the building riser and the signal flow, are dense drawings that
scroll horizontally on small screens. Each carries a text description, and the same information
appears in the surrounding copy.
- Typefaces load from a third-party service. If that request fails the site falls back to
system fonts, which changes appearance but not function.
